Oprah launches her own reality. She is absolutely unstoppable. Having had several particles patented in the names of Winfrinos and Oprons, she is “looking forward to making a difference in people’s lives on a deep, molecular level.” Check out the full story in the Onion’s exclusive story.

The complete works of Charles Darwin are now online! This is absolutely amazing, to peruse the diaries and notes of a creative thinker and adventurer. I traveled to Boston last year just to see an exhibit of Darwin’s work in 3D. Now you can view it too online. See what you think when you look at his handwritten notation expressing early thoughts on evolution.
Get your Glass Ceiling Here!

I was a beta tester of the Microsoft Windows Live search engine. The following search result kept me laughing for quite a long time…I just thought I’d share it with you.
The search I did was on the title of a Computer Science journal article that is about women’s roles and the perpetual glass ceiling..and the results for the ‘ad words’ on the right side of the image are hysterical..if not historical.

Cluster Flies – Oh My!
| July 8, 2007 | Filled under Libraries/Librarians, Upper Valley |
I’m feeling grossed out just writing about these noisy and HUGE flies in my house…ick!!!!!!!
They are much bigger than common house flies, maybe the flies presently popping up in my house are not cluster flies. It really is early in the season for cluster flies and I don’t care what any entomologist says (maybe horse flies) the plague in my house is caused by, I want them OUT!!!!
OK, the librarian here asks how do flies walk on ceilings…at least I can use this infestation as an opportunity for learning ![]()
