I learned more about the Semapedia project while at MobileCamyNYC2. Semapedia is a project to link the physical world to the virtual information world through linking Semepedia tags with a corresponding Wikipedia entry. You create tags for your real world objects, places, events, etc., connect these physical ‘objects’ with Wikipedia entries, and print out a Semapedia tag to place on your ‘object’. After you create your tags, you’ll need to install a 2D barcode reader on your cellphone to read the Tags and connect them with Wikipedia content. Or you can use the URL on the barcode to view a mobilized version of the Wikipedia page. What are your ideas how this might be useful in a library environment?
