I had a Mayan hot cocoa this morning at the Brooklyn Label cafe. This Mayan cocoa is made with pasilla chili and expresso.
Alexis from Semapedia started off our day after breakfast by explaning how this unconference actually works.
I learned more about the Semapedia project while at MobileCamyNYC2. Semapedia is a project to link the physical world to the virtual information world through linking Semepedia tags with a corresponding Wikipedia entry. You create tags for your real world objects, places, events, etc., connect these physical ‘objects’ with Wikipedia entries, and print out a Semapedia tag to place on your ‘object’. After you create your tags, you’ll need to install a 2D barcode reader on your cellphone to read the Tags and connect them with Wikipedia content. Or you can use the URL on the barcode to view a mobilized version of the Wikipedia page. What are your ideas how this might be useful in a library environment?
If you have played an interactive game with your cell phone and a digital screen, you were likely playing a Megaphone game. Two different games were played during MobileCampNYC2, and they gave out prizes!
